When I discovered this article in the February 1936 issue of American Cookery magazine, I knew I just had to share it with you today in hon...
It just wouldn't be Halloween season without candy corn.
That is so true, Candy.
Cute ghost cake, Louise. Love the eye idea. I confess, I've never cared for candy corn, not even as a child, but they sure are cute on cakes etc. Perfect pumpkin/Halloween colors.
Thanks Barbara. Your Candy Corn Cookies are pretty cute too:)
Happy "Candy Corn Day," Louise! I'm not a huge fan of this particular treat. I love these ghost ideas!
I was thinking about posting some "witchy" recipes Nellie but when I saw these ghosts I just had to share:)
Happy Halloween! Great collection of fun stuff. ;-)
I wonder if those pears would taste good, or if the inventor was overcome by the desire to make them look like ghosts.Nice collection of Halloween food images!
The way I figured it Mae was a little of both but then why should caramel apple have all the fun!
Boo! happy halloween to you, Louise!
And a boo boo back, Lena...
Dear Louise, Happy Halloween! What a fun post. Love the recipes especially ghost on a stick. I love pears. I hope that you get many treats and no tricks. Have a fun day and thanks for sharing! Enjoy and have a blessed day, Dottie )
No trick or treaters, Dottie. Lots of Reese's all for ME!
You know that my kids would want that cake! Because, really, who would not want a ghost cake?Happy Halloween! Hope the trick-or-treaters are adorable for you. (I was taken aback when the natives here expected a joke, story or song in return for candy....turns out that's a tradition here, which we never saw in Connecticut! In Tennessee, parents take their kids to the mall where stores hand out penny candy from 5 to 6 PM. Very different.)
No trick or treaters here, Marjie, which is probably a good thing considering my singing is rather HIgh!
Cute!! Happy Howloween!
So are those "girls" of yours, Channon. Loved their Howloween costumes!
Hi Louise , what a fun post , my kids love the Ghost cake with the flaming eyes , we are having severe weather here with flash flooding , my kids said they can trick or treat their daddy , thanks for sharing :).
