Yippee! It's February! Let's Celebrate!

Whew! It was touch and go for a while there but, it's done! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE designing this calendar of February's yummy goodies. However, I was striving for perfection and unfortunately, I haven't mastered that yet. Not to worry, I'm working on it:) With the exception of Valentine's Day and National Wine Day, all dates should be clickable. I also added a link to the word February. The monthly celebrations at the top were suppose to work too but for some reason they aren't on target. Perhaps next month:) I have a few more ideas for the calendar, such as grabbing some links from you "guys" so you can be on the calendar too but, since I no longer have my search engine working, I wasn't able find your links in the midst of the vast world of the internet. We'll have to work on that too.

I know most of you are in Super Bowl mode so go ahead and enjoy the game. When you're looking for some tasty days to celebrate the month of February, you are more than welcome to refer to this calendar. I'm going to leave it up here for the next week. I won't be able to post all week anyway but at least I won't feel so bad knowing you will be able to celebrate without me. I'll be visiting your blogs during the week. Right now, I need a bit of a break, lol..."See" you Sunday with a new post! Louise:)

  2. Oh Louise ,
I love the February Calendar , I will have all week to play with it . Take a break dear friend , you deserved a much needed break to just put your feet up and wiggle your toes . As the saying goes you have the patience of Job , as we all know you have had a busy time after Christmas with Marion in the Hospital ... so take off and enjoy each other . Read some and enjoy all those cookbooks .
I didn't watch the game , but I won , I betted on the one the winner whichever one that was (giggling) .
Stay warm and safe , thanks for sharing . Don't forget to wiggle those toes while you are on break ~Nee~ :)

  5. I can't believe you have Peg Bracken up there! My mother had an "I Hate To Cook" book, and I think that was her only cookbook. She also had Heloise's I Hate to Housekeep book. I think I see a pattern there. Have a great week, Louise, and I hope you and Marion stay warm and dry! (We got about 10" of snow, I think, but no sleet or sloppy stuff, so it's all OK with me.)

    1. I totally agree, Popy. Sometimes these food days just don't make sense. I guess Frozen Yogurt Day does if you live somewhere warm. Although, at this moment I can't think of any place in the states that is warm:) Can't wait to see how you celebrate!!!

  12. My God. How are there so many food days? When I first came to your blog you wrote about world cookie day (I think, my memory isn't as fab as it used to be). Then the next time another culinary day. It shouldn't really come as a surprise to me but seeing it in calendar form, I am just blown away.

  13. Dear Louise,
Sorry, I have been trying to catch up too. Every once in a while I have to catch up. First I have to say I love this calendar idea you have. It is perfect to see what is coming up. I love the fact that you have to click on it and it brings you to where you pinned things. I know there is so much work to this blog thing. People that do not have a blog, just think you just type the words and that is it. there is so much more to it, research, you have to be a computer geek, and also a designer. Besides the recipes, photos, and links. We in the blogging world can understand that you need a break...There was much going on in your life and that does take a toll on things for you. I have never in the 4th year now taken time off. A few times when my PC went down, but then I posted a day later than I do. So one of these days I may just say time for vacation...Thank you for sharing and tell Marion I sent my love...Have a great restful week off...Be warm and safe..Looking forward to your new posts when you get back..

  28. Love this calendar, Louise! So many fun dates for us foodies to celebrate. As far as vanilla bean paste, it's dark like the color of vanilla extract, with lots of little seeds in a slightly gelled liquid. You can use it teaspoon for teaspoon of vanilla extract in a recipe. Good stuff!

Love the February calendar! It should keep us busy and smiling while you take a well deserved break and relax with Marion.
I was a huge fan of Peg Bracken, and still have a copy of “The I Hate to Housekeep Book” as well as “A Window Over the Sink”. Wonder if I can find the others?
