Getting Back to Normal...

What is normal anyway? And friends, to let you in on a little secret, my mother is far from normal. Ha! She might beat me with a wet noodle for that one. Sometimes it pays to be 2,000 miles away.

Ok, all joking aside, the news is good news and that's always the best kind. My dear friends, I am happy to report that Louise is out of the hospital and making a full recovery. It will, of course, be a slow process, but after having major lung surgery that is to be expected. She was able to read all of your kind comments; they brightened her day. Louise is truly grateful her blogger friends and she doesn't want anyone to worry. In fact, she wants me to remind you to wiggle your toes. We aren't sure when she will be back to her regular posts, so for now, I will just try to keep you all as up-to-date as I can.

I must admit, my mom is a lucky lady. She is being blessed with the presence of my amazing aunt who has come from afar to help with the cooking. I am not sure of how much you all know about my family, but I will say this, my aunt, is undoubtedly THE BEST cook I know. We come from a long line of Italian women and my aunt is right up there with the best of them. Needless to say, I'm jealous!

Yes, I am very thankfully too. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make the trip back east to help mom out, so having my aunt there is the next best thing. Aunt Ria is cooking up a storm. From the moment she walked through the door, the house has had the most amazing aroma. She even said to me on FaceTime, "it's too bad you don't have smell-a-vision!" Silly Auntie (: Mom has become quite the health conscious eater and Aunt Ria is there to keep her on the right track!

I just spoke to mom and she informed me that she plans on taking pictures of the foods that my aunt cooks. I'll try to post some of them here (: For now, I will leave you with this...

While in the hospital Louise got to celebrate her birthday. There was a particularly kind young man who overheard this and decided to surprise her with a yummy treat. He had no idea that tiramisu was her favorite. Boy was she delighted when the young man walked in with this. He said, "today is my mother's birthday too. We wanted to share". How cool is that!!

Thank you all greatly for your true compassion and concern for my mother. She gave us quite a scare and we are very thankfully she will be just fine. Feel free to keep the kind words, thoughts, prayers, good vibrations coming her way.
