Merry, Merry, Merry, Meatballs

Hi Everyone!

I just couldn’t let the Christmas season slip on by without taking a moment to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Safe and Healthy New Year:)

Things have been going rather well around here. I’ve adjusted comfortably to married life, which believe it or not, I find a bit surprising, lol…(Marion and I both lived single lives for longer than we liked to remember:)

Mike and I had a glorious time traveling across our great country in the camper, although, we did have a few “mishaps” along the way. (a flat, canopy problems while driving along the interstate, a blizzard and even a carbon monoxide scare. Thank goodness my sister Maria was with us. She was a HUGE help to Mike!) Thankfully we made it to Idaho safely and in time for Tabitha’s birthday and Thanksgiving!!! As it turned out, we left the camper in Idaho and will need to return in the Spring to pick it up and continue our southern route back to PA. (good Lord willing and the creek don’t freeze:) As many of you know, I usually go out to Idaho in the Spring for Tabi and Noah’s recital. Next Spring Mike will be coming with me!!! As you can see, Mike as been officially "christened" into the family:) (He's the one with the Mickey ears:)

As for my health, I’m doing really, really, really well. I do believe even the doctors are a bit baffled! I’m not questioning anything and just enjoying every single solitary memory! I suggest all of you do the same:) If there is one thing I have learned through-out this whole experience, it is, #everydayisagiftfromGod and I thank him every day for it! I won’t be returning to blogging. I'm undecided but I was thinking of taking this blog private sometime in January. To be perfectly honest, I don't know what to do! I am on Facebook and Instagram as (Louise.Vee.) You can also find me Pinning. I don’t post very often but I sure would love to see how you “guys” are doing:)

I guess you could say these Merry, Merry, Merry Meatballs harvested from the Christmas Memories Cookbook published by the Mystic Seaport Museum Store in Mystic CT, ©1983 are going to be the last recipe I will be sharing with you all on this blog. I have oh so many cookbooks and recipes I would still love to share with you but I'm not sure how to go about it on the other social media sites such as Facebook and Instagram. Maybe I'll figure it out, lol...

Thank you all again for all the wonderful memories and kinship. I'm going to try and drop by your blogs in "person" one more time before the year is done. Just in case, I don't make it, Happy Holidays to you all and a very Happy and Healthy New Year to you and yours, Louise:)

  1. Oh Louise, I am sad that you will no longer be blogging - but happy that this is the right thing for you at this time. I understand and yes I agree, every day is a blessing and we do often forget. I Thank you for your warm and kind words, I feel though in the last year I have become more selfish a result of my work environment and I am unhappy about it, I hope to remedy that now that I recognise it in myself - I am not that person. Coming to your blog has always kept me honest and grounded and got me to reflect x I will miss your blogging. I don't do FB, but I do have Pitnerest and Instagram, so if i am not following you yet, I will follow you there - though like you - I don't post there regular. I want to wish you and your family a Happy and Healthy New Year too x PS may have to give a vegetarian twist to the Merry Meatballs recipes you share, though I did not participate as often as i wanted to I loved those cookbook posts you intro'd me to new cookbooks and recipes. Much fondness x Shaheen

  3. What a lovely surprise to click on your link and see you updated. Merry Christmas, my friend, and I hope the new year is filled with many wonderful times, good good health and family time. That's the important thing, enjoying our time and letting those we love know what they mean to us.

I am occasionally on Instagram ( had to make my account private after some harassment) but I am not on FB. Yes, one of the last holdouts on Facebook, LOL. Take care and have a lovely holiday with your family!

  6. Dear Louise,

So glad to hear that you are well and enjoying life with Mike. What adventures you’ve been having!

Every so often it’s good to change things up a bit. I’ve decided to cut back on my blogging. We’ve had a few health scares this year and I’d like to do a few other things on my bucket list. You’re so right - every day is a blessing and there’s no guarantee of how many of them we’ll have.

I do pages on FB that link to my blogs. I’m also on twitter and linked in. I now follow you on twitter. I tried to find you on FB - there are quite a few Louise.Vee. Please friend me!

Wishing a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year to you, Mike and your family!

  9. So happy to see that you're doing well and Mike is now a well loved member of the family. Leaving the RV in Idaho was genius; you will "have" to go back to get it in the spring time! I'm glad your health is improving and that you are so happy. I will try to find you on Facebook (which I just recently joined). Merry Christmas, and a happy and healthy New Year to you and Mike!

How about finding me instead, under Shirley Tay? My FB pic is my side profile holding a rose. Not sure if that helps. Can't wait to get connected with there, dear. Take care & let me how it goes, yah? Merry Christmas! xoxo
