Well, it's finally here. World Pasta Day has descended upon us in all its glory! I'm ecstatic! How about you?
Before I present you with our incredible collection of World Pasta Day dishes, I would like to personally thank you all for participating in my blogoversary Pasta Party and the Cookbook Give-Away too! Thank YOU!
When I impulsively decided to "throw" the Pasta Party, never did I imagine you "guys" would create twenty-four amazing dishes. Silly me. I should have known better:)
Okay, enough with the gushing. Let's stuff our faces!
Did you notice, up in the right hand corner, that all the above delicious looking temptations are numbered? That's because not only are we celebrating world Pasta Day with a Pasta Party, we are also commemorating the "birthday" of this blog which was way back in October of 2007. How are we doing that? You'll see:)
#5. Spaghetti with Tomatoes and Black Olives-Alida
#6. Butternut Squash Ravioli with Brown Butter Sauce-Barbara
#7. Can Can Casserole-Poppy (not pictured, Poppy contributed a recipe right out of the 70s, go see:)
Chicken and Shrimp make these pasta dishes sing:)
Pasta and Vegetables! Who could resist? Not Chaya:)
A Novelty and a Classic.
Pretty impressive huh? We have more. You'll notice that two of the entrees below are from the same person, Marjie. Marjie had a birthday this week so she is determined to win the give-away. Here are two more dishes from Marjie. Actually, not only did she make Italian Bread to go with all these delicious pasta dishes, she also contributed Pasta with White clam Sauce. A personal favorite of yours truly:) Snuggled in between, we have Lena's Creamy Miso Pasta which sounds quite intriguing. Don't you think?
It just wouldn't be a Pasta Party without Mac N' Cheese, now would it?
#24 Bacon and Butternut Mac n Cheese-Inger
"Spaghetti-Eis is a German ice cream made to look like a plate of spaghetti. It was created by Dario Fontanella in the late 1960s in Mannheim, Germany. In the dish, vanilla ice cream is extruded through a modified Spätzle press or potato ricer, giving it the appearance of spaghetti. It is then placed over whipped cream and topped with strawberry sauce (to simulate tomato sauce) and either coconut flakes, grated almonds, or white chocolate shavings to represent the parmesan cheese."
I know you all are probably stuffed, so I'll try to make this quick. First, I would like to thank Suchi from Kitchen Karma, Little Joy and Edith from Rumbling Tummy for their interest in the Pasta Party. I'm sorry you "guys" couldn't make it. I'll gladly add your pasta links to the round-up when you have them ready:)
Now for the winners! I have to tell you, as I added the numbers to the random sequence generator, I was excited for each and every one of you:) Alas, there can only be four winners...Good Luck to all of you.
Congratulations to all the winners! You have each won a $35.00 eGift Card from Powell's Books! You can redeem your gift card for anything you like as long as it's at Powell's. I'll be contacting the winners with the details either tonight or Saturday morning. I'll be filling you in on my wonderful experience with Powell's on Sunday. I don't know about you but I'm ready for a nap:)
Thank you again everyone for joining the Pasta Party. I hope you all had as much fun as I did. You "guys" never cease to amaze me with your creative culinary talents. Simply amazing! Louise
