When I discovered this article in the February 1936 issue of American Cookery magazine, I knew I just had to share it with you today in hon...
Hi Louise,Amusing post!I received a bundt pan as a wedding gift -- still use it once in a while. When the Wisconsin man who invented the American form of the pan died a few years ago there were wonderful histories of how it became so popular and all-present. We ate a delicious one on Sunday night -- photo at http://maefood.blogspot.com/2013/11/happy-birthday-adam.html
Thanks for sharing that story and that link Mae. I did a post on the history of the Bundt Pan a while ago. I should have let people know that the link is under one of the pictures above but I'll be darned if I can remember which one, lol...I think it's the last one:)
Gosh, such a fun reminder that Bundt Day is coming up! Really fun photos - thanks.
Thanks John, it was fun to do!
Thanks for the heads up on Bundt Day Louise. Of course there is a day for that! You know all I have is the mini pan--no full size, but I guess a bundt in any other size tastes as sweet!
You are more than welcome, Inger. You can link your bundt post on Friday either in the comment section or under nourishments if you like:)
Oh! Will the Bundt Cake be honored on Friday? I guess I should dust off my bundt cake recipes.:-)
Yes it will, Nellie. Will you be baking one? Dust off that pan, lol...
Nice post! Would love to post my bundt post too! Thanks for reminding :)
Be my guest Ann. Post it where ever you like. I will be doing a post on Friday if you would like to add your link. The more Bundts the better I always say, lol...
Dear Louise, Was so excited today to see what Wordless Wednesday was going to about! Fun post and I love the words that you must have added to the photo's. My Bundt pan is my best friend. Not only do I make Bundt cake with them, but also use the pan for molding other delicious foods in the shape of the Bundt! Thanks for your post, very entertaining, Blessings, Dottie :)
So glad you liked it Dottie. It was such fun to do! I actually only added the words to the last picture. The rest of the booklet is scanned as is:) I'd love to see what else you do with your Bundt Pan. Hopefully you will be posting a Bundt creation on Friday!
Hi Louise , what a really for post , Bundt Day , I waited for my girls to get home from school to ask them what type of cake should I post Friday , my boys said you have to bake it tomorrow when they get home from school . I love the post and the cakes look so enticing delicious ... and like Dottie , I use my Bundt pans for everything . I make monkey bread in it , it's endless . Thanks for sharing :)
I sure hope those kiddies of yours choose a Bundt, Nee!
Bundt Day!!! I'm not even sure if I own a bundt pan. Obviously if it has it's own day, I need one.
You certainly do Pam. In a pinch, you can use a tube pan for most Bundt Cake recipes:)
Enjoyed your Bundt Day post. Bundt cakes are my favorite to make. Come to think of it, I need to get busy and make a cake.
You sure do, Geraldine. Make It a Bundt!
Those Bundt cakes look gorgeous!! Are these typical American? In Austria they have something similar. I didn't know it was called like that. What a fun post Louise!
You found a wild turkey! There's a flock of them living in the woods across the street; I was thinking of opening my gate and laying a trail of turkey treats to entice them to come live in my yard. They make me laugh. And I make at least one Bundt cake a week, although mine don't talk back to me, thankfully. That might warrant a good slap, and THAT would surely make a big mess.
Whenever I see a Bundt cake, it brings to mind that very funny scene from "My Big Fat Greek Wedding." I'm not a Bundt fan myself, despite my annoying collection of Bundt pans.
You've convinced me that it's time to bake a Bundt cake!! So much delicious inspiration :)
I used to use my bundt pan A LOT!!Not so much anymore...Perhaps you have inspired me!Enjoy your weekend♥Cheers!Linda :o)
I'll be posting for National Bundt Day. Cakes always look pretty in a bundt!
Hi Louise, love this very interesting posting. Love those pictures, they are really nice.Regards.
Through this wide opened gate, none came too early, none returned too late. Thanks for dropping in...Louise
